What to Know:

  • Climate – As the saying goes, you can experience all four seasons in one day in Patagonia. The Patagonian climate is intense, unpredictable and changeable. The weather is part of the special charm of this part of the world, however, and we rise to its challenges.
Spring (October to December):
Bloom of flowers, native plants and mating season for birds – average temperatures range between 35°F and 64°F (2°C and 18°C).

Summer (January to mid-March):
Comfortable temperatures, strong winds – average temperatures range between 41°F and 73°F (5°C and 23°C). This is also the highest tourist season. At certain spots within the National Park, you should expect some larger groups. With Awasi, we have the advantage of being able to visit alternative attractions.

Fall (mid-March to mid-June):
The ideal time to appreciate the foliage of the area - intense reds, oranges, yellows and greens crown the different trees in the park. Temperatures between 32°F and 50°F (0°C and 10°C).

  • Weather – You can check the exact weather forecast during your stay in the following link: Awasi Patagonia weather
  • Connectivity – We suggest that while at Awasi Patagonia you try to disconnect. We have internet service both in the Main Lodge like in the Villas, but please keep in mind that the signal may be intermittent or slow because the internet service is via satellite. Finally, know that cellular (mobile) signal is very limited in Patagonia.
  • Transport – As you will find out, each of our villas has a prime location in the middle of the forest, ensuring amazing views and privacy. They are between 50 and 400 meters from the main lodge (depending on the villa). So, if you would rather not walk, we are happy to drive you between the villas and the main lodge whenever you’d like.

  • Distances – The great expanse of Patagonia has fascinated explorers like Darwin, Musters, Fitz Roy and Florence Dixie. We are in one of the areas with the lowest population density in the world. The distance from the airport in Punta Arenas to Awasi is nearly 5 While our reserve is located just outside of the Torres del Paine National Park, we are situated within an "Estancia" of 6,000 hectares, making travel times to each destination long. We invite you to enjoy each journey and the immensity of the almost uninhabited landscape.
